StrainInSight® Dashboard

Our interactive Dashboard is the best place to start exploring our private strain collection. It is built using Shiny and is updated regularly. It is well-integrated with our internal strain databases and provides a sneak peek of which strains are included in our StrainInSight Genome Database.

Isolation source

The bacteria in our private strain collection come from a wide range of sources. From fermented foods to antarctic sediments, we categorize isolation source info in a clear and structured vocabulary so you can browse through the Dashboard and get an overview of the sources of our bacteria at a glance.

Identification

One of our unique strengths is our expertise in bacterial taxonomy. Our Dashboard lists the identification of each strain along with the identification method. Browse the classification of bacteria in our private strain collection from phylum all the way to genus level via our interactive sunburst chart.

Strain details

Dive deep in our collection with the overview strain table. It contains all strain metadata, such as identification and identification method, isolation source, year and country but also availability of (whole-genome) sequences, antibiotic susceptibility data and a risk group classification.

Genome Database preview

Get a sneak peek of which strains are included in our StrainInSight Genome Database. The Dashboard shows you per genus how many strains are included in our Genome Database and correlates this information with the isolation source of each strain.

One strain collection, endless possibilities

Our strain collection contains a large number of lactic acid bacteria and acetic acid bacteria, of which many are considered food-grade. We closely monitor food safety regulations and recommendations as published in the "Updated list of QPS-recommended microorganisms for safety risk assessments carried out by EFSA" and we update our dashboard accordingly.

We are continuously investing to increase the number of strains in our strain collection. Through ongoing research and targeted culturomics projects, we are creating a more versatile strain collection targeting an even wider range of applications.
